In 2024, Metricon entered a strategic partnership with Sumitomo Forestry Australia. In February 2022, the Sumitomo Forestry Group announced its long term vision, “Mission TREEING 2030”. In working towards realising this vision, three core values and nine strategic objectives were established to create measurable value for the global environment, for people and society, and for the market economy. We aim to align with stakeholder carbon reduction commitments by achieving a 50% reduction in emissions from our 2021 baseline by 2030. This commitment provides confidence to our partners that Metricon is advancing towards a low-carbon future with the systems, capability, and governance required to support shared ESG outcomes.
